About ZIVS
Zambia Institute of Valuation Surveyors is a Statutory body enacted under Act of Parliament, The Institute of Valuation Surveyors Act, No. 9 of 2023 of the Laws of Zambia to register and regulate the practice of Valuation Surveying professionals in Zambia.
This Act defines Valuation Surveyors as professionals who are involved in the carrying out real estate valuation and includes feasibility appraisals and highest and best use of real estate management and property maintenance, land management and administration, and land development and facilities management plant and machinery and other movable assets.
We are the only professional body in Zambia that regulates valuation surveying, asset coding, property management, facilities management, maintenance of public/private buildings and market feasibility studies of land and real estate.
ZIVS seeks to foster stakeholder engagement in the implementation of internationally recognized Valuation, Property Management, Facilities Management, Property Maintenance and Land Administration Standards. In this vein we affiliate ourselves with internationally recognized institutes such as the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), African Real Estate Society (AfRES), Commonwealth Association of Surveying & Land Economy (CASLE).
